This taxonomy will be essential for the development and competitiveness of Norwegian industry in the next future.

6 objectives should be reached for the industry (see below). In the process to reach these objectives these following criteria are important:

 Technical screening criteria

• Make a substantive contribution to one of six environmental objectives

• Do no significant harm (DNSH) to the other five, where relevant;

 • Meet minimum safeguards (e.g., OECD Guidelines on Multinational Enterprises and the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights).

Regarding waste, the EU Commission has the following goals:
